Amanda Brock,
Chief Executive Officer
Amanda Brock, Chief Executive Officer, has spent her career building and managing businesses. Her diverse personal, professional, and educational experiences add an important global business understanding and management approach to the WATER STANDARD team.

Originally from Mbabane, Swaziland, Ms. Brock was raised in Zimbabwe and South Africa. She attended the University of Natal in South Africa as a pre-law student, graduating in 1980 and then moving to Baton Rouge to attend law school at Louisiana State University. Today, she is licensed to practice in Louisiana and Texas.

Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Brock joined the international law firm of Vinson & Elkins in Houston. She concentrated her practice in the commercial finance sector, representing a diverse group of clients in development, acquisitions, divestitures, workouts, and financings.

In 1991 Ms. Brock left Vinson Elkins for Enron, where she worked on finance and asset securitization. Three years later, she was promoted to president of a newly created division responsible for the construction, financing, and management of power plants, related assets, and joint ventures worldwide, including China, the Philippines, Guatemala, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. Two years after that she was promoted again, to president of North America origination and finance.

Ms. Brock left Enron in late 1998 and joined Azurix, a start-up water company and indirect subsidiary of Enron. There she was responsible for the development, growth, and management of the emergent water business in North and South America. She stayed at Azurix past the Enron bankruptcy to assist in the divestiture of the Azurix and North and Central American assets.

In 2002 she founded Martin-Brock Advisors, focusing on the energy and infrastructure sectors. She has since grown Martin-Brock into a successful consulting business.

Ms. Brock joined WATER STANDARD in November 2006 to develop and execute a comprehensive global business plan. As CEO, she has spent the past year meeting worldwide with financial and water treatment industry experts; attending, speaking, and presenting at conferences throughout the globe; and raising significant capital that further supports the viability of WATER STANDARD and its processes.

During her career, Ms. Brock has served on numerous boards and has earned several professional accolades. She was named the under 40 Alumni of the Year for Louisiana State University in 1999/2000, and she was honored as one of the top 10 women in energy in the United States by The Houston Chronicle in 1998.

She is on the Board of the Texas Business Hall of Fame, and has served on the Board of Trustees of LSU Law School and the Texas Water Commission among other boards. She was also invited to participate in and present a paper at the Water Forum at the Aspen Institute that focused on Mexico/U.S. cross-border water challenges.

Ms. Brock is dedicated to conservation and passionate about protecting the environment, especially the world's limited fresh water resources. She enjoys life with her husband and two sons in Houston and at their family ranch.
